There is a saying, that one cannot dip twice in the same river. Water flows and never stays. Same is the case of life- one's experiences, thoughts, observations.. time flies and we constantly see things evolving.. change occurs everywhere, even in the laziest of things.
Yesterday i was in a deep dilemma. Today, its completely reversed. I feel contended and calm and clear. In fact, very clear. And all of a sudden i see things around me beautiful, people the sweetest ever.
Today i heard a person speak with an authorised voice about his observations on what happens in the society around him. I was as usual reading the papers (it was our lecture session) when i got these unusual vibrance of energy.
He was a lame man, 'highly educated,'(as our professor introduced him) hailing from a renowned family. He was a businessman. Agriculture was his work zone. He came to class, and started lecturing when i leapt into the petals of New Indian Express. And i got these waves.
I raised my head to see a man in strength narrating his version of how terrorism arose, sustain and breed. An agriculturist, he said terrorism is likely to breed where people doesnt have enough to fill their stomach. Radical religious thoughts kept apart, the class dimensions of the terror aspect (as in case of maoists) came into being where people were deprived.
Encountered with an employee who once came to confront him with an acid bulb in hands, this short-statured-being, patted the burning man's shoulder and said; "Of course brother, you want to live, so do i. So lets forgive each other." He was a person who believed that one would die only when he is destined to. The employee still works under him.
The municipality granted a subsidy for chemical fertilizers needed to his farm, but being a man who uses organic manure in the field, he declined it. Authorities were unwilling to grant him the subsidy amount in 'liquid' instead of fertilizers. He said,"Its a man's choice what to use in his farm, what to grow and how to make effective production depends on how smart he is. There is no point in govt providing chemicals to me, Iam using a rather desirable alternative. If you really want to help me, assure better price(market) for my products."
70% of our people are farmers. But the total annual agricultural income forms only a 13% of our economy. So let the people first stop lingering around in this sector, and better go get engaged in some other industry which we need. I saw a small man in white shirt, sitting in a round chair with his crutches leaning on the table behind, his face beaming with some rays i rarely had seen before this close.
Born in erstwhile mentioned renowned family, and being a business person of high peers, he was friends with men of esteem. Highly strategical and diplomatic, he made his workers work continuously for 13 hours a day. He once told a friend of him in the political citadels, "give me the freedom to work according to my ideas, i'll increase the income of workers from 8,000 bucks to 25,000 a month." the reply he got is interesting enough to anticipate ....
... nothing quite unexpected...
"would we have members in our trade union then?"
Indeed, somebody need the poor.
